About The Society From generation to generation the importance and significance of a Jewish education has been a cornerstone of the Jacksonville Jewish community. The L’Dor V’Dor Society is comprised of stakeholders in the community who recognize the value of the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School, the Bernard and Alice Selevan Religious School and the JJC Preschool. The goal of the Society is to provide financial support that will ensure the sustainability of these vital institutions. Why Give? The annual giving campaign provides financial support to supplement the schools operating budgets from year to year, and allows for the enrichment of the educational experience provided to its students. School tuition alone has never fully covered the expenses of running the schools, yet at the same time we must be mindful of our obligation to ensure the accessibility to all families who desire a Jewish education for their children. Our Schools The Martin J. Gottlieb Day School (MJGDS) was founded in 1961and is a Solomon Schechter Day School affiliated with the United Synagogue for Conservative Judaism. Our school is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and is affiliated with the National Association of Independent Schools, the National Middle School Association, the National Junior Honor Society and the Solomon Schechter Day School Association. The Bernard and Alice Selevan Religious School program provides an enriching Judaica curriculum designed to create a spiritual foundation for your child, an appreciation for Jewish learning and a commitment to the community at large. The Religious School has been awarded the prestigious certification as a “Framework for Excellence School” by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. The Jacksonville Jewish Center Preschool has over 50 years of experience providing quality programs offers an enriching and nurturing program for children ages 12 months through Pre-Kindergarten. We are proud to be accredited by the Florida Kindergarten Council (2 year olds through Pre-K) and a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
